Christine Porter - Everything you need to know about Watercolour

Christine Porter  has been a professional watercolour artist and more recently printmaker for over 20 years and is a qualified teacher. Chris puts a great deal of preparation and effort into her tutorials.

We had an interesting day working on basic watercolour skills with each of us making up a booklet called "The Little Blue Book of Watercolour Painting".

Chris bought along lots of samples of weights, grades and brands of watercolour paper for us to try - and stick into our booklets - a great future reference.

Some of the topics covered were the elements of painting,  paper variables, the medium of watercolour, the techniques of applying paint, washes, colour and "leaving the white bits".
